1. Submissions to Nova are open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Bristol.

2. Writers can submit up to two entries per submission window.   

3. Fiction submissions should be a max. 2000 words, and flash fiction max. 1000 words. Poems should not be greater than 25 lines. 

4. Submissions should be in Word.doc format and in a readable size 12 font. 

5. The submission window for Nova Issue Two will be between 6th December 2024 – 14th February 2025. 

6. All submissions must have a title and be written in English.  

7. All submissions must be the writer’s own original work. Nova does not accept AI generated work.  

8. Please do not put your name on your work or in the file name. This will allow submissions to be considered anonymously by the editors. 

9. Once the editing process has been completed to the satisfaction of both the writer and the editor, and the final draft has been submitted, no further alterations can be made. 

10. We do not accept simultaneous submissions.

11. We do not publish previously published work, however, if the work has only been made public on a blog or social media, for no monetary gain, then it can still be submitted.

12. Due to workload, we are unable to provide individual feedback on unsuccessful submissions.

13. There is no fee to submit your work. We are currently unable to pay writers. Published authors will be invited to read at our launch events in Bristol.

14. All writers will be notified by the end of March 2025 if their submission has been successful.

15. You must be over 16 to submit to Nova.
